A clear path forward —
guided at every step.
Every immigration case is different. The way we move through yours — together, and in plain language — stays the same, so you always know where you are and what comes next.
"You don't need to understand immigration law to begin. You only need to take the first step – the guiding is mine to do."
Here is the path nearly every client travels with me, from our first conversation to the day the case is resolved.
The journey, step by step
The consultation
We begin with a focused strategy session. You bring your situation; The attorney brings a clear read on your options, the real risks, and the path forward. You leave with direction – whether or not we go on to work together.
Your proposal
After we talk, you receive a written proposal: the strategy the attorney recommends, exactly what representation includes, and the fees involved. You’ll see the full scope before you decide anything.
Building your case
Once we begin, we get you set up and gather what your case needs, then prepare every form, letter, and piece of evidence to tell your story clearly and completely. This is the quiet work that wins cases.
Filing
Your case is filed – fully assembled and reviewed – with the right agency or court. You receive confirmation and a clear picture of what to expect next.
What happens after
We track your case as it moves, keep you informed at each step, and respond when the government does. We stay together through the decision and what it means for the road ahead.
Built around you
A real strategy session
Your consultation isn’t a sales call. It’s working time: honest answers and a concrete plan you keep, even if you never hire me.
Clear fees, up front
Most matters are handled on a flat fee, so you know the cost before we begin. Where a case calls for something different – litigation, or work that grows beyond the original scope – the arrangement is just as clear, and always agreed in writing first.
Fully virtual from anywhere
The whole process happens securely online – built for clients across the U.S. and abroad. Available in English & Portuguese.
Common questions
How does working with Onward Immigration begin?
Every case begins with a paid consultation – a focused strategy session where we review your situation, identify your options, and map a realistic path forward. You leave with clear direction, whether or not we go on to work together.
Why do I have to pay for a consultation?
A consultation is real legal work. The attorney reviews your circumstances and gives you specific, honest analysis you can act on right away. Charging for that time keeps our conversation focused entirely on your case rather than on selling you services.
What happens during the consultation?
We use the time to understand your situation, weigh your options and the realistic risks, and outline the path forward. You’ll leave with direction you can act on, and, if it makes sense, a plan for working together. What to prepare is shared when you schedule.
Do you meet people in person?
Onward Immigration is a fully virtual practice. Consultations, document gathering, and case updates all happen securely online, so you can work with me from anywhere in the United States or abroad. The attorney only meets people in person when appearing in front of the government.
Can you represent me if I'm not in New York, or outside the United States?
Yes. Immigration is federal law, so our attorney can represent clients anywhere in the United States – and many of my clients are abroad. Because the practice is fully virtual, where you live doesn’t limit how well we can help; we work together securely online, wherever you are.
Do you work with businesses and employers, too?
Yes. Alongside individuals and families, we work with employers, startups, and businesses on work visas and employment-based immigration. Whether you’re sponsoring a hire or navigating your own status, the approach is the same: clear strategy, honest counsel, and a plan built around your goals.
How do you charge for a case?
Most matters are handled on a flat fee agreed before we begin, so the cost is clear from the start. Litigation, and work that grows beyond the original scope, may be billed hourly or as a hybrid. Your written proposal spells out the exact fee for your case.
How long does an immigration case take?
It depends on your case type and current government processing times, which can range from several months to a few years. During your consultation the attorney will give you a realistic timeline for your situation, and we keep you updated as things move.
Is what I share with you confidential?
Yes. Conversations about your case are protected and handled with care, which matters most in sensitive matters. You can speak openly so we have the full picture and can advise you accurately. Your information isn’t shared without your consent, except where the law requires.
What if I'm not sure I even have a case?
That’s exactly what the consultation is for. You don’t need the right legal terms or to know whether your situation “qualifies.” Bring what you have, and we’ll give you an honest read on your options and whether there’s a path worth pursuing.
How do I get started?
Book a consultation to begin. Choose a time that works for you, and we’ll start with a clear-eyed look at where you are and where you’re headed.
Ready to move onward?
Every journey begins with a conversation. Let’s talk about where you’re headed,
and how to get you there.
